Nat & Brett - Country Wedding

The lovely Brett & Natalie (Brettalie if you will!) tied the knot back on the 12th of August - and WHAT a day!

The morning started off at Natalie's flat in Exeter, Devon...the girls trickled in one by one and relaxing tunes were floating in the air. Whilst enjoying glasses of bubbly and scrummy pastries, and with the bridesmaid dresses hung on the picture rail in her living room behind them looking like an amazing work of art, each of the girls each created their own head garland from eucalyptus (blog post on how to do this will follow in the coming weeks!).

Excitement reached a new level when the flowers arrived - they were made by Natalie's friend Janine and were absolutely stunning large bouquets, which contained eucalyptus to match the hair, sweet avalanche roses, light pink veronica, and succulents which were cleverly wired in with their roots still intact, so that they could be planted following the wedding. Brett and the best men/ushers wore matching button holes to bring the look together.

Natalie wanted her hair to look as natural and down as possible, whilst having the back slightly pinned up to incorporate her flowing veil. The bridesmaids all had their hair pinned up in a loose pretty low bun at the back, which really showed off the eucalyptus head garlands beautifully. This style is great for bringing together the look when you have bridesmaids with completely different hair lengths and types (Natalie's girls hair ranged from really thick long hair, to hair that was asymmetric and chin length)

Once everyone was ready to go and looking A-M-A-Zing, they headed off to the ceremony in a gorgeous blue VW camper which had been decorated with flowers to match.

Following the ceremony, Natalie & Brett went to have their pictures taken on Dartmoor - which provided a breathtaking background for the couple. The pictures really captured the couples personalities - having fun and not taking things too seriously! The weather that day was just perfect - sunshine and blue sky - we couldn't have hoped for more!

The reception was held in a gorgeous village hall in Bridestowe on the edge of the moor, which meant guests had the stunning backdrop of the moor to enjoy whilst eating their Mexican themed paella (provided by the Big Pan Theory) which was completely delicious. Natalie had brought about her styling ideas to perfection, making the hall look breathtaking with such attention to detail. Pallet board style signs directed guests and provided information, whilst the wedding cake was framed perfectly in a re-purposed picture frame and decorated with flowers. The cards and gifts station featured old suitcases which looked fab, and made perfect containers. The tables were decorated with leaves running down the center, and flickering pink candles in rustic wooden candle holders. Each guest received a "let love bloom" favor which contained lavendar seeds to plant.

As the evening went on, the hall took on a fairytale feel with all the fairy lights which had been hung around, and the huge B & N signs which stood proudly on the balcony above the dancefloor lighting up. Following the first dance, there was live music which brought a great dimension to the evening, and then the party kicked off with the DJ throwing out the tunes.

Congratulations Brett & Natalie!
